*Our maple products come from Buck's Maple Barn here in Jefferson.
*The strawberries for our yogurt come from Bohringer's Fruit Farm in Middleburg.
*The honey for our butter is from Mullinex's Honey in Jefferson.
*The herbs for our butter are from Good Cheap Food in Delhi.
*The blueberries for our yogurt are from Peg Dunbar in Laurens.
Recipes
In addition to enjoying our butters and yogurts in a traditional way (like putting our butter on your toast, eating our yogurt straight from the tub, or spreading our cheese on crackers) here are a few other delicious ideas:
*Yogurt makes an amazing marinade for chicken. Take your chicken in an Indian direction and marinate 4 breasts in 1/3 cup plain yogurt, 2 tsp curry powder, 2 tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp grated fresh ginger, 1/8 tsp salt, and the juice from 1 lime, then grill it. It comes out wonderfully moist and flavorful!
*Yogurt makes an incredible Greek-style dip called tzatziki. Simply mix together 1 cup of plain yogurt, 1 finely chopped or grated cucumber, 2 chopped garlic cloves, ¼ tsp salt, and 1 tsp chopped mint leaves. Serve with pitas or alongside Mediterranean or Indian foods as a condiment.
*Eat our yogurt with granola in place of milk. Add some brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey for extra yumminess!
*Blend our yogurt with a banana and your favorite fresh fruit or juice for a great smoothie.
*Yogurt can be used in place of sour cream in most recipes as a low-fat substitute.
*When using our butter for cooking or baking, one 8oz. tub is equivalent to 1/2 a pound or 2 sticks of butter.
*Our savory butters can be used in cooking for sautéing, or finish your meats, fish, or veggies with a dab. Our garlic oregano butter also makes the best garlic bread you’ve ever tasted!
*Use our sweet butters instead of cream cheese on bagels, muffins, or other baked goods.
